Produce - Tomatillo
The tomatillo, also known as the Mexican husk tomato, is a plant of the nightshade family bearing small, spherical and green or green-purple fruit of the same name. Tomatillos originated in Mexico and were cultivated in the pre-Columbian era.
Containing all the right ingredients for optimal nutrition, tomatillos are a very good source of dietary fiber, niacin, potassium, and manganese. They are high in vitamin A which also helps maintain healthy mucus membranes and skin, and the flavonoids do their part in inhibiting lung and mouth cancers.
